On 26TH November 26 2018, the Advisory Body had a meeting at the Customs Administration, where the representatives of the business community were informed about the new customs declarations and excise documents processing system which launches the digital era of the Customs Administration.

The new system will replace the current ASYCUDA system and all procedures are now conducted with paper documents will become electronic. The system will begin to be applied at the beginning of 2019, first in pilot offices in each of the five customs offices, where the processes will be performed both in the old and in the new system, and in the middle of 2019 the system will be put in function on the entire territory of the Republic of Macedonia. During this period, the Customs Administration will train the customs officers and the economic operators who will use the system.

The business community was also informed about the activities of the Customs Administration to reform of the system for issuance non-tariff measures licenses and approvals to ensure faster and easier customs procedures through inspection of certain goods at the customs offices for customs clearance, instead at the border customs offices.

The Draft rules for improvement of the re-export system were also presented at the meeting and the attendees were informed about the 14 new e-learning courses uploaded on the Customs Administration website that are intended for the business community and the customs officers for learning customs regulations.
